Clearance of Slopes and Rockfaces - Categories OS21 and OS12-B
Slope and rockface clearance works are designed to change the layout of an excavation face or a natural face, reducing the destabilising forces and/or removing volumes of unstable rocks of varying size.
These types of structures come in a variety of forms which can be principally summarised as:
- Re-profiling an entire slope by remodelling the surface using explosives, mechanical demolition or excavations and earth movements.
- The removal of individual large and unstable rocks through manual operations.
- Thorough scaling of small, loose material.
